Project Scope

  • Vanguard Engineering provided construction inspection and administration for installation of; new concrete lighting poles, new fixtures, new pull boxes and conduit system. It utilized as much of the existing conduit system as possible, and used trench-less technology to reduce the impact to the surrounding areas.
  • Work was performed along eight residential streets. Modernizing the system allowed the City to reconfigure the lighting into 15 individual circuits, instead of one. The use of decorative poles and fixtures maintained the aesthetic look of this historic neighborhood. The use of LED fixtures with correct pole spacing increased coverage while reducing maintenance and operational costs.
  • The work also included spot installation of new granite curb, replacement of hazardous sidewalks, installation of ADA compliant sidewalk ramps and drainage improvements.
  • Vanguard Engineering created and maintained an on-line newsletter to communicate daily with involved Residents. It was convenient for Homeowners and saved us time explaining events on an individual basis.
  • Construction was completed by ML Caccamise Electric in 2015 and cost about $566,000.
